I started writing scenes to ease my way back into writing fiction. Fiction is my first love; poetry was the love affair that I had to take my mind away from how much I love fiction. No, no. I'm not a home-wrecker. Ha. ha. I delved into poetry in order to practice my word play. Poetry has a way of being playful and serious at the same time. Talking about love and war, feeling out joy and pain.
But there is a deep, burning love for fiction that's inside my soul. It understands me, speaks to me, soothes me. I don't fully understand its power, but I feel a belonging that I never felt before. I'm a fiction writer and I love it.
