It was another being
whose breathing I could feel
but not hear
Downstairs I opened the fridge
but didn't find anything to
appease my fickle
stomach
I went to turn on the
radio
Was the dial broken?
No music would play
What happened?
Then I turned on the TV
I could see basketball
players dancing around
the court, shooting
basket after basket
But I didn't hear their shuffling,
I didn't hear the crowd reacting
to the each of the points they
were making
I shouted but I couldn't even
tell if was really shouting
or just viciously yawning?
