She touched her forehead, a sudden migraine came upon her. She felt hot and feverish, but she didn't feel achy or weak. On the contrary: she felt a surge of energy that stemmed from her feet and reverberated up her spine and into her skull and then left her body. She let out a slight cry. Tears formed in the corners of her eyes. Hot tears trickled down.
"WTF?" she said aloud. She looked around to see if anything else was moving or shaking around her. Was it an earthquake? What was that. Everything seemed still; locked in place by gravity's usual force.
Her cell phone buzzed. It was a text from her eldest:
