“Just pick up, I know
you’re there,” she said into the phone. She felt a presence, a sense of a body,
not inside her own body, but around her. She felt her energy, again, just
sort of checked in with it. She was okay with it. Okay with the vibe. The sensation had intermittently come and gone, but it was in the past now.
She felt her right
wrist, the one with the scar. She squeezed her wrist, wrapped her hand around
it, gently gliding around the scar. Touching its contours, it’s bumps, its
ridges.
