I'm going to first argue that being brutally honest is good for you and good for your friend. Take for instance, an imaginary conversation with your favorite author. For me, that's easy, I say my favorite author whose books I instantly feel in love for was and is Haruki Murakami. I don't know exactly what it is about his writing, his style, his tone, his mood, his stories, I always feel so comfortable and safe when I read his stuff. It's just that good. It keeps my attention, and all throughout the story that unfolds in my mind.
Now, say I get to meet my favorite author is real life. Whoa!
What would happen? What would we talk about? And what would we do together?
That's interesting, I think.
