one last thought..

i had a dream last night, a dream i had when i was little....

it's about this feeling i get, that's the most memorable part of the dream
where am i? i'm in this old, ancient looking temple...im walking down a corridor that has open doors at the end and i can see the dusk just beyond the doorway
the ceiling is wooden and yet there are large stone pillars that i keep passing
and i finally pass this large statuesque warrior figure- resembling a japanese samurai [must have had more visual images of samurais when i was younger =/]
i just remember running..
and feeling afraid b/c i was being chased by something
but i didn't know what it was

i had this same dream over and over for like a week and i'll never forget what i felt like when i was walking through those corridors

you could sorta relate it to walking through a museum, but not
b/c you feel something greater, something mystical
something spiritual
something that surrounds you, flows into your body, travel up your spine, gives you chills, and then finally excites you as it leaves

yea yea...so it's not a dream about BRAD PITT XP
dayum....
but i'll never forget it

and i had it again last night, but it was a bit different
i remember this line that this capoeira dancer/keeper told our african art history class on thursday: when you go back and follow one tradition, you meet all the other traditions as well..

that stuck in my mind.
when he said that
i imagined what it would be like, to train yourself to follow a tradition~ i can imagine that there are struggles you face- you lose yourself in it, and you start to feel the experiences of the ancestors before you....'baggage'? or....
...keys to sacred texts, traditions, secrets?
......to pass on and continue on~ to help them live on..
..you become unimportant and even feel weighed down by this knowledge at times..
but then you learn to carry it w/ ease and lightness~
b/c it was your choice and you chose it with your whole heart.

****
one last thing =P
....the word ..ar chi tect ure... architecture
i like saying it to myself ~ hehehehe
its like oolalaa... ekkee
