Love of Her Life

It was time to sleep, but she was wide awake. Staring up at the ceiling, she thought, "Here we go again," and sighed.

Breathe in for four, hold for four, breathe out for four, hold for four.

She did this about 10 times, breathing slowly, methodically. She closed her eyes. Try to visualize something, anything. When she saw images before sleeping, it often fooled her brain into thinking it was ready to go blissfully into the dream world.

Her eyes opened wide again. She tossed, she turned. Then rolled over to face him. There he was, snoozing away. He was always asleep within five minutes of his head hitting the pillow. "Gosh, that must be nice." Another long, slow sigh. It was her "yoga breaths" she liked to call them, her sighs that is.

She gazed at him, her sleeping beauty. She wanted to softly touch his hair, kiss his cheek, but didn't want to disturb him so she kept on taking in this nightly sight. She felt a feeling of peace and contentedness overwhelm her. She was next to her soulmate and nothing in the world would stop her from being with him.
